Alan J. Reef
Alan has been successfully managing equity and fixed income portfolios for over 25 years. He joined Overbrook Management Corporation in 2001 as CEO, President and Chief Investment Officer. Alan leads Overbrook’s investment team in actively managing equity and balanced portfolios as well as broadening clients’ portfolios to include high-quality alternative investments where appropriate. Alan also works closely with clients to ensure that their investment plans meet their long-term financial goals. Before joining the Overbrook team, Alan was a Managing Director at Brundage Story and Rose, a $7 billion money management firm that specialized in working with high net worth individuals. Starting at Brundage in 1994, Alan rose to become one of three individuals on its Investment Policy Committee, which set investment policy for the entire firm. Bessemer Trust acquired Brundage in October of 2000 and Alan remained until leaving to join Overbrook. Prior to his tenure at Brundage, Alan was a Managing Director at Ark Asset Management where he was one of four institutional portfolio managers in the $6 billion Basic Value Group, which managed equity and fixed income portfolios for Taft-Hartley, municipal, foundation and corporate clients. Ark Asset was originally the institutional asset management arm of Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb which Alan joined in 1981.
Alan holds a BS from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude, and a MBA with Distinction from New York University.
Richard J. Zenker
Richard has more than 25 years of experience addressing and solving a wide range of investment and financial issues faced by ultra-high net worth families. He has been a Managing Director and member of the Investment Committee of Overbrook Management Corporation since January 2003. Prior to joining Overbrook, Richard was Director of the East Coast Private Client Services Group at Thomas Weisel Partners, a group dedicated exclusively to addressing the financial needs of high net worth individuals and families. Before joining Thomas Weisel Partners, Richard structured transactions to hedge and monetize concentrated equity positions, and created customized, leveraged funds of funds for ultra-high net worth families as part of the Global Equity Derivatives team at the Royal Bank of Canada and at Kidder, Peabody & Co.
Richard holds a BS from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Christine Munn
Christine has over 20 years of experience in wealth management for ultra-high net worth individuals and family groups. She joined Overbrook Management Corporation in May 2009 as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director and is a member of the Investment Committee for Overbrook. Prior to joining Overbrook, Christine was a Senior Portfolio Manager at UBS and also spent 17 years as a Partner at MB Investment Partners Inc., a private investment advisory firm. There she managed equity, fixed income and balanced portfolios. Before joining MB Investment Partners, Christine was a financial advisor at Kidder Peabody & Co. for private individuals and small institutions.
Christine holds a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University and an MIA from Columbia University.
Adam M. Levy
Adam joined Overbrook Management Corporation in 2003 bringing experience with a wide range of investment products to his position as Vice President and member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Overbrook, Adam researched investments for Dynamism Corporation and was an equity research analyst for Epoch Partners LLC where he covered the Consumer and Internet Technology sectors. Prior to that he analyzed risk exposure and hedging strategies for both the Salomon Smith Barney equity derivatives trading desk and high net worth clients. At Credit Lyonnais Securities, Adam analyzed securities and trading results for several trading desks including equity, fixed income, and equity derivatives.
Adam holds a BS from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Mary J. Grecco
Mary has spent over 20 years working with Overbrook’s clients, assisting them with their accounting, tax, philanthropic, estate planning and other financial needs. Mary joined Overbrook Management Corporation in 1989 as Assistant Controller and now serves as both Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. She works closely with clients’ accountants, attorneys and other financial professionals to provide customized, cost-efficient service to each and every Overbrook client. Prior to joining the Overbrook team, Mary worked in public accounting at Coopers & Lybrand, now Pricewaterhouse Coopers, in both the audit and executive tax departments. She became a certified public accountant in 1988 and maintains her New York State CPA license to this day.
Mary is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a BS from Manhattan College, graduating summa cum laude with a dual major in Accounting and Computer Information Systems.
Richard A. Appelgren
Richard joined Overbrook Management Corporation in 2003 as Manager of Family Office Services. Richard works closely with Overbrook’s family office clients overseeing an array of financial and concierge services including bill paying, budgeting, insurance planning and arts management. He has guided clients through real estate purchases and sales, mortgages, refinances and co-op board applications. Prior to joining the Overbrook team, Richard worked as Manager of Client Relations at Diaz & Altschul Capital Management, LLC (The Delta Funds), a private investment advisory firm. From 2001-2002, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Silverman Capital Management, LLC (The Opus Biotech Funds), a biotech focused hedge fund. Richard followed the fund’s manager from Robertson Stephens, Inc., where Richard served as an equities research assistant on the biotech research team in the Life Sciences arm. From 1993 to 2000, Richard was a professional opera singer, performing at major opera houses and concert venues around the world.
Richard holds an Artist Diploma from Yale University, School of Music, a Master of Music with Distinction from New England Conservatory and a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. Richard also attended the Music Gymnasium and the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna, Austria and The Juilliard School in New York. |
